The Municipal Directorate of Education in Moa has the essential mission of directing, executing and controlling the application of State and Government policy in educational activity, except for Higher Education. The educational system in the municipality currently has a total of 12109 students attending the different levels of education, broken down as follows: 1079 in Preschool Education, 5873 in Primary, 196 in Special, 2254 in Basic Secondary, 924 in Pre-University, 1364 in Technical and Professional and 419 in Youth and Adult and Language. All of them under the guidance and supervision of a total of 1059 teachers, distributed among the teaching levels as follows: 186 teachers in Preschool Education, 420 in Primary, 197 in Basic Secondary, 55 in Pre-University, 127 in Technical Professional Education, 30 in EscuelaEspecial, 15 in Youth and Adult and 7 in Language.

At present, the third Improvement of the National Education System is being carried out with the objective of making management styles, curricula and the work of educational institutions and modalities more flexible and contextualized, strengthening the preparation of directors and teachers, giving great importance to the protagonism of the students, the family and the community in the life of educational institutions and modalities. In order to advance and obtain better results, our municipality does not lag behind and puts all its efforts to achieve a more comprehensive education of the new generations.
